Backyard Shofar Gatherings on Rosh HaShanah

Because the sound of the shofar wakes us up to life.

The main mitzvah of this holiday is to hear the sound of the shofar, so Sanctuary has invested in shofars to share. If you want to host another family or enjoy the service as a nuclear family in your backyard, Sanctuary can support you with the following:

A shofar to borrow for the season.
A list of instructional youtube videos that teach shofar blowing techniques and the 3 main blasts.
Support from Rabbi Miller as you practice and prepare.
A handout with blessings and reflection questions to guide you through the ritual that day.

Children (age 5+) and adults can borrow shofars. It's a fun new skill to learn together.
